Investing in futures
At Vodafone Business, we’re continually investing in people and technology to expand connectivity and service to the most remote areas of the UK. That’s because we want everyone to make the most of the latest digital technologies. With the shift away from solely office-based operations to a hybrid workstyle where time is split between a central location and remote working, a robust network is essential. And in order to thrive in today’s fast-paced world, SMEs need reliability. Beyond the big cities, we’re making sure people in every corner of the country can benefit from connectivity they can depend on.
Here’s how Vodafone Business is currently working to keep SMEs connected, and helping to support service reliability:
Transforming our network
We’ve invested £4.5 billion in improving our network over the past five years, more than ever before. We’ve focused specifically on four key areas:
- Completing network modernisation
- Making more 4G available with higher download speed
- Expanding our core and fixed network
- Delivering seamlessly converged fixed and mobile services
Never far away
Our team of engineers make sure our network runs smoothly even in hard-to-reach places, carrying out maintenance on masts that are vital for both mobile signals and our core fibre network. Our team is also available 24/7 to fix faults and outages in your business as quickly as possible. We’ve already connected 100 rural communities and have been making plans for the arrival of 5G, which will help make even more businesses future ready.
Plugging the connectivity gaps
Vodafone will play a key role in delivering the first stage of the Shared Rural Network, a £1 billion project to improve connectivity to the more remote parts of the UK. Partnering with O2 and Three, Vodafone will help build over 200 mobile masts across all four UK nations to enhance rural coverage significantly and eliminate areas with no coverage or ‘not spots’.
